If your clock is made of wood it needs occasional polishing to maintain a high level
of luster. Polish every month or so, but use only a light coat of furniture polish.
Otherwise the shine becomes dull.

Use any glass cleaner to clean the glass covering the face of your clock. Clean
lightly to avoid scratching.
Stone clocks should be dusted lightly, with polish avoided because it will dull the
crystal or polished stone finish.
Wood bases for stone clocks may be dusted.
